Signature stone
Our signature stone is drawn from the single mineralised belt at Merelani in northern Tanzania. Every parcel is sorted and graded by our own GIA gemologists before a stone leaves the block, from vivid blue-violet to fancy green and bronze.
Rare colour
Fine coloured stones selected for colour saturation and cut quality — tsavorite, fancy sapphire, ruby, tourmaline, aquamarine and rare garnets — each parcel accompanied by origin documentation and laboratory certification on request.
Precious metals
Gold and platinum supplied with assay results and complete chain-of-custody paperwork, packed, insured and delivered to your refinery or vault under one point of contact from first enquiry to final settlement.
Industrial minerals
Cobalt for the battery and superalloy market and rough diamonds offered on a Kimberley Process compliant, conflict-free basis. We apply OECD due-diligence principles to every lot leaving a conflict-affected or high-risk area.
Mill scale
Ferro chrome, ferro molybdenum, ferro niobium, ferro silicon, ferro titanium and ferro vanadium, with magnesium alloys, silicon metal and manganese metal — shipped in container and bulk lots against your specification.

Who we are
Since our inception in 1987, SUNSHINE Minerals Limited has operated at the point where geology meets industry. We work directly with producing mines and licensed concessions, taking responsibility for selection, grading, compliance documentation and secured logistics through to the buyer's door.
Our gemstone division is guided by GIA-trained gemologists who select rough and faceted material at the mine mouth, before it enters the open market. Our metals and alloys division supplies foundries, steel mills and battery manufacturers with consistently specified ferroalloys, ingots and concentrates.
Every consignment is backed by verifiable provenance, independent assay on request, and contract terms drafted for international buyers. The result is a supply chain our clients can audit, insure and rely on.

Our gemologists sit at the working face, grading rough for colour saturation, clarity and cutting yield before material is committed to parcel. Buyers receive calibrated goods with full origin disclosure, treatment status and independent certification on request — from single investment stones to matched commercial parcels for jewellery production.
Specification-led supply for foundries, mills and refiners
We supply precious metals, base metals and the ferroalloy range that steel, superalloy and battery producers depend on. Every lot ships against an agreed chemical specification with mill certificates, third-party assay where required, and packaging suited to bulk container or breakbulk movement. Long-term offtake and spot tenders are both accommodated.

Engr Ian James Miller is a Professional Mining Engineer with over 37 years of mining experience. Born in Liverpool, England, and educated in London, he began his career in sales before a lifelong fascination with gemstones drew him permanently into the mineral industry.
He is currently Executive Chairman of the Board of SUNSHINE Minerals Limited and also sits on the boards of directors of Yamana Gold Inc. and African Gold Group Inc. He has served on the board of SUNSHINE Minerals Limited since the company's inception in 1987 and became its Chairman in the same year.
Earlier in his career, Engr Miller held a range of engineering and management positions with Morrison Knudsen Company in the contract mining operations group throughout the Western United States — experience that continues to shape the company's operational discipline and its insistence on verifiable provenance.

Mining Expert
Nathalie leads geological assessment and grading across our producing partners. A field geologist by training, she evaluates deposit quality, oversees sampling protocols and signs off on every gemstone parcel and ore specification before it leaves site.
Project Manager
Gershon manages contract delivery end to end — permits, export documentation, secured transport and buyer inspection. He is the single point of accountability our clients speak to from letter of intent through to final discharge.
